I recently finished a little Supernatural fanfiction project called "Sam's Hell". A bit different from my usual writing style, this comedy was a series of flashback's which explained how Sam spent 180 years in the pit with Lucifer, Michael and Adam. While writing it I got ... a bit bored, shall we say? I decided to take pictures showing the different stages of writing. So, here they are ... the behind the scenes look at making Sam's Hell.
Stage One - Brainstorming

| Trying to figure out the pacing and which chapters would cover which rules. This is the first draft to give me a general outline for how the story would progress. These pages are filled with random rules, character notes and timelines. |
While figuring out the plot, it was important to plot out a rough schedule for myself to follow. How many chapter's I could write in x amount of days. Once I knew how many chapters I was going to write, I could focus on plot.
Stage Two - Plot Development
Typing out all the rules allowed me to see which ones I was missing and which years I had overlooked. I would make notes beside each one for story ideas and plot points.
Stage Three - Rough Draft
First draft is written out by hand. Columns usually filled with side-notes for myself.
Stage Four - Typing/Editing the Story
Once everything is typed up and read through, it is ready to be posted.
Stage Five - Posting the Chapter
Each chapter is individually uploaded as a document. During this time formatting is done, as is a final edit.
Then I post it as a chapter with my story!
Stage Six - Let the World Know
I always send out a tweet when I post anything.
Read reviews and hope people liked it. This is always my favourite part.
